a grieving dads thoughts.
we should all be aware of “human rights ” we seem to hear of them in all aspects of our lives.
these human rights are broken into sections and sub-categories. for those of you who are not familiar with them ,article 2 of these rights relate to “the right to life and the protection of that life”
i fought and won a long and difficult court case to say my son had rights under article 2.my sons rights sadly and tragically were taken away from him by a group of loyalist paramilitaries who for a long time have been in the payroll of the same british government and its security forces who are sworn to and duty bound to protect.
this is thankfully a minority of people and organisations and a select, handpicked or groomed family of corrupt idividuals who have no moral or proffessional standards .
i see these people as parasites and regard them worse than the criminals, the criminals you expect to behave in this manner ,but those in authority are where they are for a reason and that is to uphold the law and see that justice is done and not just seen to be done.
as a father who has lost a child in the worst way imaginable to sit in a court and be refused a drink of water ,while every other person in the courtroom down to the very doormen have water on tap so to speak, including the defendant accused of his murder the question cries out what has society done to itself?
i dont know what is right and wrong anymore ,i do know that if you need justice in northern ireland you have to be prepared to search for it yourself. hopefully along the way you will as i have found a lot of very good and selfless friends to help.
finally for now just a note of wisdom ,when a unionist politician says to you that he or she “will leave no stone unturned” this usually means they are building a wall ,as to who will be supplying the cement , i will leave up to you the public.
